The engravings for the first edition were reworked as silhouettes in the second edition. Privately printed by Stols for the collector Baron Emile van der Borch van Verwolde. Light foxing to margins, One sheet with creasing and one sheet with a small closed tear to lower edge. The second edition of Dolores was limited to 40 copies. 9 engravings measure 10 x 5 cm., the head- and tailpieces measure 5 x 5 cm. Sheets are 25 x 16 cm. The tailpiece of a female nude with three ravens refers to the coat-of-arms of Emile, Baron van der Borch van Verwolde. Very rare.
