Incomplete suite of 9 (out of 11) white line wood engravings by John Buckland Wright for the first edition of Dolores by J.C. Swinburne, printed on imperial Japanese paper. The engravings were reworked as silhouettes in the second edition. 7 engravings measure 10 x 5 cm., the head- and tailpieces measure 5 x 5 cm. Sheets are 25 x 16 cm. The tailpiece of a female nude with three ravens refers to the coat-of-arms of Emile, Baron van der Borch van Verwolde. Very rare.
