With an original gelatin silver print (24 x 20 cm.) pasted to the front paste down and protected by a tissue gard. The book is signed and numbered by Christian Boltanski on a loose colophon sheet pasted on the rear paste down. “It is a monumental book, over 1,100 images culled from newspapers, archives, books, postcards, found photographs and flea-market pictures. a gigantic memento mori, the primary aim of all Boltanski’s work” (Parr & Badger II:173). 28 x 22,5 cm.
