Printed by Mourlot on Velin d’Arches, under the supervision of Matisse. This is one of 30 Roman numbered Hors Commerce copies (XXIX). Unique presentation copy, signed to Gaston Tutin who was a master printer at Mourlot. He is known to have assisted Matisse in printing his lithographs at the Moulot studios. Signed and dated in pencil by Henri Matisse on the limitation page: “a Gaston Tutin, H. Matisse, nov-1950”. Very fine copy with the poem of Charles d’Orleans printed in the handwriting of Matisse, all with lithographed decorations. Illustrated with over 50 full page lithographs including a frontispiece of the poet, a lithographed title page, 4 portraits, 48 pull page flower motifs and a lithograph depicting rabbits around a tree. All lithographs are in very fine condition with bright colors with strong impressions. 100 pp., 41,5 x 27,5 cm.
